The Genetic predisposition test is a one-off screening test which looks at your unique genetic profile and is able to quantify the risk of developing certain conditions.
There are over 30 different conditions that are tested for including
• heart disease
• Alzheimer’s disease
• cancers (including breast, colorectal, lung, prostate and skin)
This test also evaluates your lifetime risk of developing these conditions and compares it to the general population.
In addition to genetic risk, the diseases we test for are also influenced by environmental and lifestyle factors.
If we identify an individual with a high genetic risk of developing a certain disease we are able to offer a personalised management plan which could include medication, surgery and lifestyle changes in order to reduce the risk of developing the condition.
The Genetic nutrition and fitness test is a one-off test which looks at your genetic ability to lose weight and response to different types of exercise such as cardio and weight training.
It also looks at your risk of developing certain vitamin and nutrient deficiencies as well as your genetic ability to metabolise fat, protein and carbohydrates.
This information can be very useful when setting up a tailored personal exercise and nutrition program.
